Laying Hens for Sale! by Jeremy Porter | Mar 26, 2014 | Blog | 4 comments Post by Cluck! “Coop”erative of Lexington Urban Chicken Keepers. Share this:Facebook 4 Comments Diane Gibson on May 3, 2015 at 6:02 pm I was wondering about the legality of keeping chickens in Lexington and if anyone knows of laying hens for sale? Reply Jeremy Porter on May 29, 2015 at 5:53 am Diane, chicken keeping is legally allowed in Lexington. The restriction to keeping chickens could come from a Homeowners Association, so check with your HOA first, if you live in one, to see if it is allowed or possibly deed restricted. If you’d like to buy laying hens, send us an email through the contact link and we can put you on a list of folks who are interested in buying pullets from us. We have a small batch we are raising currently. Reply Teri on August 19, 2015 at 9:22 pm I am looking to buy chickens that are ready to lay. Lost mine to coyotes! In Lexington, jessamine, Woodford area. Have large free range area for them. Any suggestions? Reply nhypyltante.science on October 25, 2015 at 7:54 pm A chicken can grow fast and eat nearly 100 pounds of feed by the time she starts laying eggs. Its costly to feed a chicken for 6 to 8 months and provide labor and medical care too. Our prices reflect these costs. Reply Submit a Comment Cancel reply Your email address will not be published.
